Overview

Washington Commons is a thoughtfully designed cohousing community centered around connection, simplicity, and intentional living. Positioned within the modern real estate space, the brand blends lifestyle-driven storytelling with a clean, contemporary presentation—appealing to buyers seeking both a home and a sense of community.

Through its digital presence, the brand aims to showcase available homes, communicate the values of cohousing, and guide potential residents toward taking the next step. The foundation was already in place, with structured content and clear messaging.

However, while the information was strong, the visual execution did not fully reflect the quality, warmth, and professionalism the brand represents. The experience felt more functional than refined—leaving an opportunity to elevate the design into something more cohesive, engaging, and conversion-focused.

CHALLENGE

The foundation was already there—well-structured websites with clear content and layout. But the visual execution didn’t reflect the quality behind them.

The designs lacked cohesion and refinement. Typography, spacing, and hierarchy felt inconsistent, making the experience less engaging and harder to navigate. What should have felt premium and trustworthy instead came across as purely functional.

With multiple sites needing redesign—and one to be built from scratch—the challenge was to elevate everything to a higher standard without starting over.

Solution

Rather than rebuilding from scratch, the focus was on elevating what already existed.

A refined visual direction was introduced—bringing consistency to typography, spacing, and layout to create a more cohesive and polished experience. Each page was restructured to establish stronger hierarchy, guiding users more intuitively through the content.

Key sections were simplified and clarified, with calls-to-action made more prominent to support conversions. The design shifted from purely functional to intentional—balancing aesthetics with performance.

Across multiple sites, a consistent visual standard was applied—transforming them into experiences that feel premium, cohesive, and aligned with the brand’s value.
